Scott of the Antarctic

Huxley, Elspeth, 1907- $0 (SEDAR)607588
Books, Manuscripts
Scott is one of the heroes of the twentieth century. What sort of man was he? He has been variously described as a great leader, a pawn in the power game of nations, a bungler who allowed his sentimental aversion to beating and eating dogs to warp his judgement, and a scientist at heart who belived the advancement of knowledge to be the only justification for the expensive polar expeditions he was called upon to undertake.
